Tutorial to Create a Cover Design with Gimp Program
This time we will learn to create a bulletin cover design I think actually in outline there is no much difference between bulletin cover design and poster design, even this time the size of the working paper that I use is the same as the size of working paper to design the poster. May be the only Different there is on the content of the information on the bulletin cover tends still unclear, because the full information there is on the contents of the bulletin. To create a bulletin cover design using the gimp program, we can follow the steps below:
1. Because this time the title of bulletin that we want to create is "the Rubik of Islam", we search first rubik picture. After we have rubik picture, select the rubik picture. Use paths tool for the selection.
2. We make a working paper with size A6 by clicking File >> New. We copy the rubik picture that had been selected, click edit >> copy, then open the working paper, on the working paper, click edit >> paste as >> new layer so that the rubik picture appears on the working paper as a new layer.
3. Adjust the position and size of the rubik as seen in the picture above.
4. Then we search a picture of the mosque, we will put a the mosque picture over the Rubik picture. Next we copy the picture of the mosque.
5. Paste as new layer the mosque picture that we have copied earlier in our working paper, adjust the position and size so that it looks like the picture above.
6. We also need grass picture to design this time, so make sure we have had it. We move the grass picture to the working paper by copy paste and adjust the size and shape to the shape of Rubik. Make sure the layer of grass there is under the layer of mosque that doesn't to cover the mosque picture and at the top the layer of rubik because we want to make as if the grass is growing on Rubik.
7. Copy again grass picture with square-shaped selection, this time we will make the grass seemed to be glued on the sides of the Rubik,
8. Paste as new layer in our working paper
9. Adjust the shape of the grass picture with rubik side-by-side with the rotate tool and perspective tool
10. If the form has been in accordance with the Rubik delete some pictures of the grass, set brush are used with a brush that has thin side so it looks grass grows wild on the sides of the Rubik.
11. Do the same with the other side
12. Adjust the hue by clicking colors menu >> hue-saturation on rubik layer because we will change the color of the rubik because green on rubik in my opinion is not fit and will blend with the color of grass.
13. Add a picture balloon
14. Adjust the brightness and contrast by clicking colors menu >> brightness - contrast that balloon colors appear lighter.
15. Do brightness and contrast settings are also on the layer mosque.
16. Copy the background layer and create a gradient on the layer. Setting first radial gradient style. Setting the color of the foreground color and background color gradient color that looks like in the picture above.
17. Add the banner picture, the same way as before by way copy and paste.
18. Add a text layer and create text with curved style. Make sure the text layer above the banner layer. Also add a new layer to create a shadow by way click the layer menu >> new layer. On the new layer, create a shape using paths tool, then use a brush with thin side to erase partly of shadow and lower the opacity.
19. Add pictures of butterfly and flowers.
20. Create a new layer to create a two circle shapes and add text layer above it.
